Grade 5

Fifth Grade is a transitional year, offering students new academic and personal challenges. By promoting the balance between a more demanding curriculum and a nurturing learning environment, Grade 5 faculty give students the skills necessary to meet these new experiences. Accordingly, teachers focus on fostering effective study and research habits, helping students to learn from their mistakes and their successes. Middle School classrooms are predominantly self-contained, however, Grade 5 students spend more time in core academic disciplines. During this important year of growth, students become more self-reliant learners, actively pursuing knowledge from both individual and group perspectives as they prepare to enjoy and succeed in the Upper School.
