Brookwood Admissions
Secondary School Placement
Brookwood's secondary school admissions process follows a twelve-month plan that has been refined and enriched over the years. The extensive yearlong process begins with a kick-off dinner during which secondary school admissions directors speak to our seventh grade parents, answer questions, give helpful hints and generally offer reassurance. During the following months, the headmaster and the assistant head meet with every family to discuss the direction they will pursue. To help prepare them for the application and interview process, eighth graders are escorted through a series of exercises including a self-study, mock interviews, practice essays and goal setting. As all of this occurs, the faculty and administration spend a great deal of time writing student recommendations. The result is that our graduates are well matched with the schools that will take them through the final steps of college preparation.
