Doug Fodeman to be a new author!

Doug Fodeman, Brookwood's Director of Technology, has received a publishing contract with the International Society for Technology in Education. In the Spring, 2008, he and a colleague will publish an Internet Safety curriculum guide for students in grades 5 - 10.

Ben Wildrick recently published!

Ben Wildrick, Grade 1 - 4 Brookwood science teacher, recently published the article From the Forest to the Ocean in the magazine Connect [May/June, 2007; Volume 20; Issue 5; page 1], a magazine for teachers in K - 8 science, math and technology. Download a copy in pdf format. [1.7 MB]

Recognition for Brookwood Faculty Writers

In July 2006, two teachers were honored at Marblehead Festival of the Arts Writers World.

Maile Black, Grade 6 English teacher, received an award for Outstanding Work in Creative Non-Fiction with her essay “In Which the Author Moves and Wonders.”

Martha Fox, Language Arts Coordinator, received two Honorable Mentions for her poems “Whales in the Quarry” and “Returning Home after Five Years in Japan.”


Calling all Published Authors!

The Dodge Writing Center’s Writers’ Wall is being expanded and will soon be reinstalled. The Wall is an ongoing project that aims to represent all kinds of writers and writing generated by members of the extended Brookwood community. Its purpose is to inspire young writers to try all kinds of authentic, purposeful writing.

Please contact Martha Fox if you or a family member have publlished original work in any genre and would like to participate.
