Brookwood's student newspaper has grown from a staff of eight to its present size of 21 student journalists. Every Friday, young reporters gather for the weekly staff meeting in the Mac lab during which they review content and brainstorm story ideas. Now in its fourth year, The Bird's Word is published three times a year and features original student writings and artwork -- faculty profiles, reviews of books, movies and plays, creative writing, poems, surveys, photography and more. The Bird's Word is one of many after-school programs available to Brookwood students. For more information, contact Jen Cunningham Butler, director of After School Programs, or Kacey Morris, editor of The Bird's Word .
