Governance

The Board of Brookwood School, made up of 24 individuals, executes its fiduciary and strategic duties at the direction of the officers and the Executive Committee. The body currently has seven standing committees and frequently engages task forces and subcommittees as items of import arise. Each trustee serves a three-year term with an option of continuing for a second three-year term.

Every year, the Committee on Trusteeship seeks nominations from our community for the following year's trustee candidates. These individuals should reflect expertise in the fields of the Board's standing committees as well as issues of concern to the school community. The Board also looks to appoint a group of individuals that represents the makeup of the Brookwood School community. Nominations are evaluated by the Committee on Trusteeship and a list of finalists is submitted to the Board for a vote. New trustees assume their duties at the beginning of the following school year.
