Douglas Florian

At Brookwood April 2015. Douglas Florian is an author, artist, and poet. He has written and illustrated more than fifty books of children's poetry. The publication of his latest book, How to Draw a Dragon, coincides with his visit to Brookwood. Some of his other titles include Beast Feast, winner of the Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award, Insectlopedia, a national bestseller featured on National Public Radio and The Today Show, Mammalabilia, winner of the Claudia Lewis Poetry Award and a New York Times “Best Illustrated Book of the Year”, and Dinothesaurus, which received starred reviews from School Library Journal, Booklist, and Publishers Weekly, and was a Bank Street Best Book of the Year. Douglas Florian lives in New York City with his family.
