MISSION IN PRACTICE:

Social Studies

Our social studies and language arts/reading curricula are mutually supportive; a good example of interdisciplinary teaching. Social studies classes provide a rich and varied background of historical and cultural knowledge.  This, in turn, fosters a greater undertanding and appreciation for the literature we read.

Math

In grades K-5, Brookwood has adopted the math curriculum Investigtions in Number, Data and Space.  This program has proven to be an excellent fit for our goals and mission as a school.  Using this program means that we are working with the most current information about what math children shoud learn at each grade level and about how children learn math best.

We also solve Rubik's Cubes and compete in the Annual New England Tournament
