2016-2017 School Year

1) September 8, 2016 THE PLATTERS
Multiplatinum, Rock and Roll, Vocal Group and Grammy Hall of Fame members, The Platters, were originally comprised of founder and naming member Herb Reed, Tony Williams, Paul Robi, Zola Taylor and David Lynch. In 1955, the quintet crashed through the racial divide that existed in the United States paving the way for them to become one of the preeminent vocal groups of all time. The newer members of the group continue to open the hearts and minds of new generations of music audiences to the rich vocal and historical tradition that is The Platters making their timeless melodies relevant to all ages of worldwide fans.

2) September 15, 2016 VERMILLION STRINGS
Vermillion Strings of Greater Boston has a diverse background of vibrant, enthusiastic musicians. Vermillion Strings currently consists of a trio of acclaimed musicians from the Greater Boston area, based out of Salem, Massachusetts.

3) October 26, 2016 NINA OTT
Nina Ott has earned the reputation as an amazingly versatile and comprehensive jazz musician that can move between styles while retaining her own unique identity. The performance for the Brookwood community will focus on Afro-Cuban jazz.
4) November 17, 2016 ANNAWON WEEDON
Annawon Weedon and his native dancers share the culture of his tribes with students. Annawon's passion for preserving the culture is evident in his educational performances. 

5) January 5, 2017 PIANO MEN
Celebration of piano player singer/songwriters by master musicians. Brookwood’s own music teacher Gary Beckstrom is an instrumental part of this amazing group. 

6) April 20, 2017 VICTOR MAIN
Victor Main is an accomplished performer and teacher. He will bring his passion of classical guitar to share with the Brookwood community. He will also dedicate some time providing guitar workshops.

7) April 27, 2017 (TBD) David Hildebrand
LS & MS Workshops with David & Ginger Hildebrand. They will bring history to life through their music.

8) Late May/Early June - Upper School Coffeehouse
