PARENTAL CONTROL SOFTWARE AND MONITORING OF DEVICES

In February, 2018 a Brookwood Parent made this recommendation...

"[We] about various software solutions that can help us track our kids’ computer usage.  We tried so many of them, but they either failed or were just too cumbersome to use.  I wanted to let you know that I found a product that really does work: Circle by Disney (and it’s built into some Netgear Routers).  It allows parents to manage each device’s internet usage from the Router, not from software on each device.  Certainly it’s not a replacement for good rules and policies regarding computer usage, but it’s a great enforcement and accountability tool.  https://meetcircle.com

NOTE: Free software often does not usually include the best options for monitoring or filtering.  Even the free built-in Apple and Windows operating system tools for filtering web content are limited and not recommended if a commercial product can be purchased.

Regarding YouTube for Kids
YouTube hosts a great deal of content that is not appropriate for children, especially children under the age of 12.  In early March, 2015 YouTube announced new apps for iOS and Android that enables younger children to ONLY access child-appropriate content.  The content is most appropriate for children up to ten years old.  To learn more, visit:
