Thank you, Parents: Cocoa in the Commons

Thank you Brookwood parents for all you do!
We are grateful for your volunteerism and the many ways you contribute to Brookwood. Please join us for holiday cheer and a toast of thanks on Thursday, December 8 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Liston Commons. No need to RSVP!
Sign up now for Winter After-School Classes
A fresh slate of after-school offerings will ring in the New Year at Brookwood. Check out the new class descriptions and sign up through the Brookwood Reports Server.
To ensure that courses are not cancelled, please sign up as soon as possible. In order to give teachers enough time to prepare for their new students, please sign up by the end of Winter Break. Don't delay, some classes have limited enrollment space.
     Email Justin Zappia with questions.
Holiday Book Fair, December 7 and 8
There are volunteer opportunities at the Holiday Book Fair. Come be a part of this great event.
Get your holiday shopping done early! On Wednesday, December 7 and Thursday, December 8, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Parents' Association in conjunction with The Book Shop of Beverly Farms will once again hold a Holiday Book Fair in the front lobby.
Choose from a wide assortment of best-selling new fiction and nonfiction, cookbooks, autobiographies, sports collections, children's books, among other genres. This is a wonderful opportunity to do some book shopping and help our students. All proceeds from the event are used to help fund author visits and buy new books for classrooms.
We will take special orders before the fair and for the week following the fair, so if you'd like to support Brookwood, but don't see your title, please let us know.
If you have any questions, please email either Susan Pincus, Julie Bernier or Sheila Geraty.
Help spread the word!
Wondering what you can do to support the school and help spread the word about a Brookwood education? Social media is one of the most powerful ways to reach families.
Follow Brookwood on Facebook  and be sure to  "like" or "share" our posts regularly.  We've already seen a significant increase in activity this fall, thanks to those of you who have been helping promote Brookwood through Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Keep up the good work and thank you!

100% in 100 Days: We Need YOU

Last year 74% of Brookwood parents participated in the Brookwood Fund. This year we are currently at 50% and a little more than a month to go in our participation challenge. Parents, we need YOU! Help your child's class get to 100% and let's work together to increase parent participation for Brookwood.

Brookwood Fund participation at any level matters.  It's true: gifts of all sizes are what make the Fund special. The most important Brookwood Fund number is the percentage of people who participate, because high participation shows a community that is fully committed! If you haven't made your gift, we need your support today. We can do it, together.

New emergency broadcast system
Brookwood will be using a new emergency broadcast system to contact families in the event of a weather or other emergency starting on December 12.
The new system is School Messenger by West Corporation.  Unlike our old BBC system, Brookwood has set up all family accounts to include the home and cell phone numbers that you provided in your registration at the start of the year. As you inform us of changes to your home or cell phone numbers or email accounts, we will update School Messenger.
Early in December, we will send parents an email to explain how to opt into the emergency text messaging ability of the new system and when you can expect to receive a test broadcast and text. If you have any questions about Brookwood's use of School Messenger, please contact Doug Fodeman.

Brookwood is excited to announce the return of our popular March Break Camp for students in PreK-Grade 5 during the week of March 13, 2017. Camp will run 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily with the option to add an additional hour of care until 5 p.m. each day.
View costs for our base-level program on this chart. Specialty enrichment options may be added at a later date (and may be priced differently).
If you are interested to learn more about Brookwood's March Break Camp, please email Justin Zappia.
