Join Laura Caron on February 22

Get out of the cold, and join Head of School Laura Caron this Wednesday, February 22 at 7:30 a.m. in the Liston Commons for warm Coffee & Conversation. This meeting will begin an hour earlier in hopes that working parents are able to stop by before heading off to work. Early Birds childcare coverage will be available at no charge.
As in the past, we'll begin this casual gathering with time for mingling, followed by a conversation on issues of importance to the group. Thoughts, reflections, questions?  We look forward to hearing what's on your mind and how we can enhance the Brookwood experience for all community members!

March 2: PA offers speaker on stress reduction, increasing mindfulness in life

On March 2, at 8:30 a.m., in the Liston Commons, come and discuss, learn and experience a research-validated program to help kids (and parents) reduce stress and increase mindfulness in daily life.
The Parents' Association invites you to attend the next PA Meeting as we hear and learn from Rana Chudnofsky, Director of the Resilient Youth Program at the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
The Benson-Henry Institute's Resilient Schools Program (RS) brings relaxation response-based coping skills and life management tools into the school environment to help teachers and students better manage daily stress and positively impact students' academic performance and health.
During this parent presentation, you will:
     - Engage in a dialogue and learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of unhealthy levels of stress in yourself/others
     - Practice the different models of the Relaxation Response, for your use and as a resource for your child(ren) to practice in stressful moments
     - Gain valuable resources for further explorations and interventions on mind/body awareness for your child(ren)
