30-DAY Art Challenge is on!

The 30 DRAWINGS in 30 DAYS art challenge is back for a second year and runs from Friday, February 3 - Saturday, March 4. All members of the Brookwood Community who are interested can be a part of this exciting Art challenge. It involves making a drawing each day for 30 days.
If you are interested in being part the 30 DAY challenge, come by one of the art rooms to pick up a 30-page sketchbook. And then all you need is a pencil and you are ready.
The reasons for doing this challenge are simple - it encourages us all to slow down each day, helps it us to look carefully and really notice, and it's fun!
A few visual prompts will be posted each week for those needing an idea or two. A first few prompts: your pet, a favorite pair of shoes, an ice cream sundae, a silly face, a fun doodle.
There is also a 30 DRAWINGS in 30 DAYS bulletin board located outside of the Faculty/Staff Room. Paper and pencils are there, and we encourage you to add a drawing if you'd like.
If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask. HAPPY DRAWING!

Upper School Wellness Week: February 6-10

On February 6 we will once again welcome Will Slotnick to the Upper School.  Will has been coming to Brookwood for the past seven years to speak in classes about addiction, wellness, stress reduction, diet, and mindfulness.

While he will be meeting with each grade two times during the week, he is also available to parents. Please contact Evan Diamond ( ediamond@brookwood.edu) for scheduling one on one meetings with Will.
Will is also giving a talk on Friday, February 10 at 2 p.m. in the Dodge Writing Center. This meeting is open to all Brookwood parents.  We hope to see you there!
