What happens when a Brookwood alum combines 1000 sq. ft. of two-inch rigid foam insulation, 13 cans of spray adhesive, seven bottles of Gorilla Glue, two-by-fours, plywood, a steel frame and three gallons of paint? Fluffy from this year's eighth grade play, that's what!
Best wishes for a great Spring Break!
Have a great vacation and don't forget to save the date for our Off to the Races Auction on Saturday, May 6, 2017!
March 29: The Parents' Independent
School Network meets at Brookwood
The Parents' Independent School Network (PIN), a non-profit organization of independent schools in the Greater Boston area that provides parent education opportunities for its member schools, will hold a meeting here at Brookwood on Wednesday, March 29, beginning at 9:15 a.m. Brookwood is a member of PIN, and all Brookwood parents are warmly invited to attend the meeting.
The topic of discussion will be "Helping Children (and Families) Find Balance," and will feature a panel of representatives from area independent schools.
Interested in learning more about PIN? Feel free to contact Eliza Cowan (email@example.com).
The eighth grade's performance of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was a rousing success. Congratulations to everyone!
School Meeting included sixth grader Maisy H. presenting her essay on technology addiction (above left); Mrs. Notas giving a Faculty Grant presentation on all she learned about the harp
on a trip to Ireland (above right); Mr. Luman and Hazel singing Rainbow Connection.
Thursday was a special pajama and reading day in Kindergarten.
There's plenty of room in the Crate Family Town Square for second and sixth grade buddies to draw and share their favorite spring activities.

We are setting aside time on Thursday, April 6, to honor and celebrate the creativity and incredible work done by our students.
This year there is a new format to the celebration. It will be a daylong event from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Artwork by our PreK through Grade 8 artists will be displayed throughout the school, and students will view the artwork with their Buddies throughout the school day. There will be a short presentation at School Meeting, a special "art-themed" lunch, and three mini-workshops for students will be offered from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Students need to sign up for these optional mini-workshops in advance. There is a limit of 16 children for each workshop:
1) Paper Marbling, Paste Paper, and other creative paper surface techniques, for Middle and Upper School students;
2) Printmaking and Design, for Lower and Middle School students;
3) Plastic Buildables, for Lower and Middle School students.
Parents and families are encouraged to view the exhibit after School Meeting from 10:30 -11:00 a.m. (and of course either before or after school).
We hope to see you on April 6 from 10:30 - 11:00 a.m. to honor and view the amazing work done by your children. Your encouragement and support of your child or children's creativity is greatly appreciated.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact Kathy Stewart at either email@example.com or 978-526-4500 ext. 6315
