Brookwood School

I am proud to be in my nineteenth year as Headmaster of Brookwood.  Over the years, I have spoken with countless parents about the reasons they choose Brookwood for their children.  Topping the list were the credentials of our faculty, the wide-ranging accomplishments of our students as well as the quality of our facilities.  

Many families who visit campus talk to us later about the feeling they experienced when they walked through the doors of Brookwood.  They describe an upbeat atmosphere and a sense of vitality in the hallways decorated with student artwork.   Some say it’s our students, who are usually smiling and showing a positive spirit.  Others point to the enthusiasm of our teachers as they lead a class, often encouraging a similar reaction in their students. 

While the motivating reasons may differ, it is apparent to all that Brookwood is a warm child-centered community that is wholeheartedly focused on students.  Just as it is our goal to create a school where students are happily engaged in their education so too is it our responsibility to encourage them to take risks, to give them the support to challenge themselves and each other in a safe environment.     We have come to refer to this as “The Brookwood Way.”  And it is within this environment we believe that children have the best chance to become confident life-long learners.   The result is that Brookwood graduates make a significant difference in their next schools and beyond.  For a look at accomplishments of some recent graduates, click here: Alumni/ae talents and triumphs: Stories of the Class of 2003.
