At Brookwood, our commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Belonging centers on striving to cultivate belonging, dignity and respect, and advance just outcomes for all members of our community.
We are committed to honoring people’s multiple identities, including but not limited to ability, age, appearance, ethnicity, family structure, gender expression, gender identity, nation of origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. We actively work to be an antiracist and inclusive school.

People
Employees
Brookwood’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging is supported by a Community and Belonging Team that brings together internal leadership and outside expertise. This team helps guide thoughtful, developmentally appropriate work across the school, supporting students, families, faculty, and staff in building a more inclusive and connected community.
This work includes supporting professional learning, advising on schoolwide practices, strengthening student belonging, and helping ensure that all members of the Brookwood community feel seen, valued, and supported.
Students
Students engage in belonging-centered learning through classroom experiences, advisory, affinity spaces, leadership opportunities, and schoolwide programming. Older students also have opportunities to participate in regional conferences and experiences that support identity development, student voice, and cross-school connection.
Parents & Guardians
Brookwood families are important partners in this work. Through parent education sessions, community conversations, book groups, and Parents’ Association programming, families have opportunities to engage with themes of identity, inclusion, equity, and belonging in ways that support our shared commitment to a welcoming school community.
