Dear Families,
Next Thursday evening, we are pleased to open our doors for Back to School Night—a time when the classrooms and hallways that hum with children each day come alive with parents discovering what their children are learning and how they are growing. We begin with a Parent Reception at 5:30 p.m., hosted by Trustees, and the program itself runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Back to School Night is a chance to step into your child’s year. You’ll meet with homeroom and advisory teachers, learn about the curriculum, and see how the experiences ahead connect to the developmental stage your child is in right now. The evening is designed to give you a sense of the arc of this school year—how skills and understandings build from September to June, and how teachers partner with you in guiding that journey.
This year carries added excitement. On September 25, we will introduce Horizon 75, Brookwood’s strategic plan that will guide us to our 75th anniversary in 2031. Horizon 75 is both a reflection of who we are and a bold declaration of where we are going. It lifts up the qualities that define Brookwood—joy in learning, excellence in teaching, and a community where every child belongs—while setting our sights on the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
The evening will give you the chance to connect with faculty, to glimpse the richness of the curriculum, and to see how a Brookwood education prepares students not simply for the next school, but for lives of purpose, curiosity, and service.
I look forward to sharing this evening with you and to beginning, together, the exciting next chapter of Brookwood’s story.
With anticipation,
