Finishing Strong: Winter Athletics, Olympic Spirit, & What’s Next

Weekly News

The first day of the Winter Olympic Games kicks off today, and we’re feeling that same spirit of energy, teamwork, and friendly competition right here at Brookwood School.

Next week marks the final week of winter athletics, and we’re looking forward to wrapping up a great season. Our final home games will take place this week, and teams will celebrate their seasons with Captain’s Practices on Thursday, February 12th — a fun tradition that gives our captains a chance to lead and enjoy some last moments together as a team.

After the winter season wraps up, we’ll have three weeks before Spring Break, and that means one of the most anticipated PE traditions of the year — the Ice Cream Bowl

Students in Grades 5–7 will be drafted onto ice cream–themed teams like Vanilla, Chocolate, Mint Chip, and more. Teams will compete in a series of fun athletic challenges such as street hockey, basketball, and other favorite PE games. The competition builds toward an exciting playoff bracket to crown our Ice Cream Bowl champions. It’s always a highlight filled with laughter, teamwork, and just the right amount of friendly rivalry.

Looking ahead, spring athletics will begin on Monday, March 23rd, right after we return from Spring Break. We can’t wait to head into a new season with fresh energy and longer days.

Thanks for cheering on our athletes all winter long — let’s finish strong!
