Dear Parents,
Thank you for joining us at Back to School Night and for being part of the launch of Horizon 75. The spirit in the room was extraordinary, and it reminded me once again of the deep bond we share as a community — one rooted in curiosity, ambition, and a shared devotion to the lives of children.
When I think about Horizon 75, I do not think first of buildings or programs or even the milestones it names. I think of children: children who will discover their voices in a school play, who will take risks on the athletic field, who will lead a project that makes a difference beyond our campus, who will feel seen and known by a teacher who believes in them. This plan is about creating more of those moments — moments where learning is joyful, where challenge builds confidence, and where belonging gives children the courage to be themselves.
Over the coming years, Horizon 75 will allow us to expand the ways students engage in real-world, interdisciplinary learning. They will have new opportunities to tinker, to innovate, to wrestle with big questions, and to bring their ideas to life. They will have more spaces in which to express themselves — whether through art, performance, athletics, or outdoor exploration. And they will be guided by faculty who are not only skilled educators, but also lifelong learners themselves, supported through bold investments in their growth and well-being.
At its heart, Horizon 75 is a commitment to our children’s futures. It is about ensuring that when they leave Brookwood, they do so not only well-prepared academically, but also resilient, compassionate, and ready to make a positive impact in the world.
If you haven’t yet had the chance, I encourage you to watch the video and explore the plan online. Horizon 75 serves both as a guide for the years ahead and as a mirror of what we hold most dear at Brookwood, affirming our promise to every child who becomes part of our community.
The power to soar lies in what we create together.
Warmly,
Jon
