Tick & Mosquito Prevention on Campus

As part of our ongoing commitment to student health and well-being, Brookwood will begin twice-monthly tick and mosquito treatments, starting Saturday, December 20, weather permitting.

As many families are experiencing locally, tick activity has increased in recent years. In response, we are taking a proactive step focused on the areas of campus where children spend the most time outdoors: the Forest School area and the playground. Treatments will take place on Saturdays and will pause if there is snow on the ground.

We are partnering with Pure Solutions, a company that provides all-natural, essential-oil-based treatments designed for environments used by children. This work represents one prong of our broader approach to outdoor safety, alongside practices families already know well—such as tick checks, outdoor awareness, and thoughtful use of our natural spaces.

You can learn more about the treatment approach here.

Warmly,
Letitia Howland
Director of Finance and Operations
