At this time of year, it is customary for schools to share news of departures, and while goodbyes are a natural part of school life, each one carries its own imprint. People arrive, grow, contribute, and eventually move toward new chapters. In that rhythm, we are reminded that schools are made meaningful by the relationships, care, and daily acts of commitment that shape the lives of children and the larger community.
This spring, we honor a number of Brookwood colleagues whose contributions have strengthened classrooms, programs, relationships, and daily life across our school.
We share our gratitude and warm wishes with Sophie Collins, who brought spark, energy, and connection to EC2 this year. As she begins her next adventure pursuing her master’s in theater, we know she will carry that same enthusiasm and vibrant presence with her.
We are also grateful to Robyn Cunningham, whose bright spirit, humor, compassion, and creativity helped create a world language classroom filled with curiosity, connection, and belonging. While we will miss her in this role, we are glad that she will remain part of the Brookwood community as a parent.
We thank Nichole Edwards for the care, steadiness, and warmth she brought to her work as a school nurse, offering students comfort and encouragement when they needed it most. We are also grateful that Nichole will continue to be part of our community as a Brookwood parent.
We celebrate Laura Lilley, whose energy, humor, and enormous heart have made her a beloved colleague, science teacher, coach, and friend. Her commitment to students, collaboration, and joyful learning has strengthened Brookwood in many ways.
We are also thankful to Kate Lowe, whose warmth, organization, wisdom, and gift for building genuine connections helped first graders feel known and supported in her classroom each day.
We also thank Meg Lloyd who brought thoughtfulness and care to her work with Upper School English students. We are grateful for her contributions to Brookwood and wish her all the best in her next chapter.
We also share our appreciation for Sayuri Mojica, who met the year in EC2 with flexibility, maturity, grace, and quiet determination. As she continues her schooling, we know those same qualities will carry her far.
And finally, we also wish farewell and the very best of luck to our retiring employees, Dr. Shayda Ahi, Bob Hastings, and Ben Wildrick, whose years of service and dedication have left a lasting mark on Brookwood.
To Sophie, Robyn, Nichole, Laura, Kate, Sayuri, Shayda, Bob, and Ben: thank you. Thank you for the care you brought to children, the partnership you offered colleagues, and the many ways you helped shape this community during your time here. Each of you leaves with our gratitude and with a lasting place in the larger Brookwood story.
