We’re delighted to welcome Mr. Chris McGrath to the Brookwood community as the Grade 5 & 6 English teacher during a long-term leave.
Chris brings more than twenty years of teaching and leadership experience in independent schools, including fifteen years at Francis Parker School in San Diego. He’s known for inspiring students to think critically, write expressively, and read with both insight and joy.
Throughout his career, Chris has designed creative, literature-based curricula and built inclusive classrooms where every student feels seen, valued, and challenged to grow. He and his wife, Jane, recently moved back to New England to be closer to family and are currently living in York, Maine.
A lifelong sailor, surfer, and lover of the outdoors, Chris is excited to join a community that shares his love of curiosity, adventure, and connection to nature. We look forward to welcoming him to campus on Monday, November 17!
